For trades & home services

The questions trades & home services should be getting named for.

People ask an assistant for a plumber the way they used to ask a neighbour — with the problem, the postcode and the urgency all in one sentence. Whoever's premises, hours and covered areas a machine can actually read gets handed the call.

What your buyers are asking

My boiler's leaking and I'm in Leeds — who can come out today?
Who installs EV chargers near me and is certified to do it?
Who can come out on a Sunday for an emergency electrician in south Bristol?
Which local plumber does bathroom fitting and can quote this week?

Why the answer names somebody else

  • Address, hours and covered areas written in prose, so "near me" questions skip you.
  • Services listed as page headings only, with no machine-readable description of each.
  • Certifications, insurance and trade-body membership nowhere a machine can confirm them.
  • One 'Areas we cover' paragraph instead of a page per town you actually want calls from.

Check your own site and you get exactly this, on your own business: a score for how well the assistants can read you, what's in the way in plain language, and — for questions like the ones above — whether you're named, somebody else is, or nobody is yet. Where you're not named, we tell you who was. We work out what you actually are before grading you, so you're never marked down for lacking something your kind of business doesn't have.
